Age guidance
Mystery of Little Angel Theatre is aimed at everyone over 6.
About our age guidance
On some shows we don’t give an upper age because we are recommending them for young people and adults too. Shows can be less suitable for children under the given ages for many reasons, including more mature themes, complexity of language and narrative, and subject matter or scenes that some may find scary or upsetting. We appreciate that everyone is different and age ranges can only be a rough guide, so it’s most important that you read all the guidance before booking for the child you would be bringing.
This show has standard seating for our Studios. There are rows with chairs and soft blocks facing the stage, and some mats on the floor at the front. There will be up to 65 people watching the show (sometimes more if you come when there are school groups).
There are opportunities to join in for those who would like to. There is verbal interaction throughout the show where audience members are invited to shout out answers / suggestions / prompts, or vote for certain options. There are also moments in the show where the performer may ask for a volunteer to come on stage. Otherwise, the audience remain seated while watching the show, but you can leave and re-enter the auditorium at any time.
The show is a murder mystery ‘whodunnit’ set as a board game. It was developed with groups of 6-11 year olds to be a playful, suspenseful and exciting experience for those in this age group and above. The show is not scary to watch, but of course the premise of the story is that there has been a murder, and some children may find this idea harder to deal with.
Throughout the show we gather a great deal of evidence linked to each of the five suspects, who all have interrelated stories. Younger children might find it challenging to piece together the storyline and follow the hints and clues.
