“Visual Masterpiece of the highest caliber” Freek Neijrinck in The world of puppetry

“Ode to the imagination… A feast for the senses…Funny, sharp and moving” TAZ Oostende

An award-winning cross-over between theatre, visual art and animation. A wordless poetic performance in which worthless finds, picked up from street corners and rescued from the gutter change into actors. A live performed animation. The movie and the making of at the same time!

Two performers slide old cardboard under a camera and on a large screen a desert appears. A rusty saw plays the sea. Maple seeds become gentle birds and old working gloves an endless swamp. Omnipresent is the enchanting soundtrack that pulls the viewer into the story.

It’s a charger for your imagination; so don’t forget to take it with you !

TAMTAM produce visual theatre since 1979 and perform their visual theatre all over the world.

“Festival of metamorphosis… brilliant manipulation… TAMTAM create worth from the worthless… go and see it if you have the chance ”  Aus Greidanus, Director of the famous Appel theater in Den Haag

Age Guidance
This version of Rusty Nails and Other Heroes is aimed at adults and young people from age 10. The company say: ‘This is a rather silent 70 minute visual performance that includes a few dark and serious scenes and has references to the world of adults. Some parts develop in a slow tempo to give the audience time to think, and others tend to be quite abstract.’

NB: There is also a 50 minute version of this show in the afternoons which is suitable for children from age 6.
