Puppetry Lab - Exploring and Devising

This two day workshop is for companies and individuals who are interested in creating theatre with puppets.

Welcome to Puppetry Lab, where mistakes are magic

The course will involve:

• Generating ideas and testing them out
• Analysing and playing with different puppetry styles
• Experimenting with restrictions
• Creating a story from a variety of starting points
• Time to work on your own ideas in a safe space with like minded practitioners and an experienced director

Day two will focus on devising for show development, forming detailed characters, creating scenes and dialogue, and discovering transitions. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ideas, stories, and/or puppets to experiment with. Companies will work together on their existing ideas, and individual participants will form a temporary company for the day, collaborating with like-minded practitioners.
