Making Theatre for Toddlers and Babies
7th - 8th June (two day workshop)
For ages 18+
Duration: 10am - 5pm
Step into the magical world of early years theatre-making! In this two-day workshop, you’ll learn how to create theatre experiences specially designed for young children and their families. Led by Rosa, whose work centres on sensory theatre including co-creating Persephone: A Tale of The Seasons, this workshop explores how understanding child development can inspire creative storytelling.
You’ll discover how the theatre-making process changes to meet the needs of young audiences at each stage of early growth. We’ll discuss why creating for babies and toddlers involves unique approaches that reflect their developing brains and bodies. By learning about the different ways infants and toddlers experience the world, you’ll see how to design engaging, multi-sensory experiences tailored to each age group—offering children and their families a captivating first theatre experience.
