We are thrilled to announce that we have received support from Arts Council England for our strategic touring project Take Flight.
Take Flight will tour two productions around the UK, bringing our work to children in areas of low engagement with the arts. The aim of the project is to develop relationships between schools and their local theatres, while also supporting schools as they work towards Artsmark. We hope to give children more chances to see our shows and engage with puppetry, while also helping to develop the touring microcosm by supporting venues to build relationships with schools.
Joyce Wilson, London Area Director, Arts Council England said:
“Take Flight offers children even more chances to engage with the arts across the North, Midlands, South East and in London. I am really pleased to see Little Angel Theatre extending their support to both teachers and theatres with this exciting strategic touring project. Through the partnerships made by this project, Little Angel Theatre will help make a genuine difference to the cultural education of children across the country, developing their creative skills and broadening their access to cultural opportunities within their daily school life. Artsmark is a very powerful tool for developing the cultural life of a school and its students, and I am delighted that more schools will have the opportunity to work towards this with Take Flight.”
Samantha Lane, Artistic Director, Little Angel Theatre said:
“Little Angel are really excited about taking two productions on tour across the country – helping venues to engage with primary schools whilst simultaneously supporting schools with Artsmark.”
