Little Angel Youth Theatre (11-18)
Summer Term 2018 – booking now open
(For Senior school and sixth form students)
Wednesday 2 May – Wednesday 11 July (with a half term break on Wed 30 May)
6pm – 8pm
The term includes a show visit to Sleeping Beauty in the Wood on Saturday 30 June at 2pm.
Working with a professional team and led by director Stephanie Withers, youth theatre members will focus on making puppets this term.
Each participant will create a sitting puppet which can be operated by a single performer. This type of rod puppet is ideal for storytelling, solo performances or combining puppetry with actors onstage. It’s easy to transport and versatile for use in festivals, comedy routines, musical performance, or cabaret. It features a hard sculpted head, foam body, and jointed arms. With the puppet’s legs draped over the performer’s arm, the head can be moved with a rod inside the head, and the puppet’s hands can gesture via rods at the elbows.
£45 per person per term/ £35 concessions. Bookings for full price places can be made in person at the theatre or over the phone on 0207 2261787.
The weekly sessions take place at Little Angel Studios a few minutes walk from the theatre. Click here to see a map.
