Little Angel Youth Theatre (11-18 years)

About Little Angel Youth Theatre
Working with professional puppetry directors and makers, youth theatre members make puppets, learn puppetry performance skills and make a show.
This course runs as a two-term project, Youth Theatre members will work towards staging one major production a year, performed in March, and embark on a variety of smaller projects throughout the course. In the next project, starting at the end of April, participants make their own Suitcase Theatre show.
Dates and times: Wednesdays 6pm – 8pm
Autumn Term: 13 Sep – 22 Nov (half term break on 25 Oct)
Spring term: 10 Jan – 14 March
Production week: 17th – 25th March (please keep all evenings during this week free)
Youth Theatre members are invited to watch Rusty Nails and Other Heroes at Little Angel Theatre on Saturday 23rd Sep. The show will be used as a stimulus for creating and devising their own production. Tickets are not included in the course fee and cost £6 per Youth Theatre Member. Full details will be in your confirmation email.

Concession bookings must be made in person at the theatre, our Box Office is open 7 days a week from 10.00am – 5.00pm. Please bring the relevant documentation with you. Call ahead to check availability of places on the course you want to book (0207 2261787).

About the Director
Stephanie Withers is the Participation Manager at Little Angel Theatre. Stephanie will be leading Youth Theatre and directing their upcoming production. Stephanie’s background in puppetry, physical theatre, clown and devised work will bring a fresh and exciting perspective to the Youth Theatre programme.
Her recent credits include director and playwright of Lead Suspect (Kings Head Theatre, The Cockpit), and producer In Other Words (The Hope Theatre) for her company Off the Middle.
Stephanie has toured the UK with the all-female cycling Shakespeare troop The Handlebards as assistant director and company manager (Romeo & Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew and As You Like It). Stephanie was the Director in Residence at Cheltenham College where she directed and devised a number of productions with students, including Les Miserables and The Railway Children.
Youth Theatre Past Productions and Testimonials
Our Youth Theatre have created several highly acclaimed puppetry productions, in 2014, Macbeth: The One Half World followed by 2015’s stunning version of The Jabberwocky (revived in October 2015 for Suspense Festival), and in 2016 an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic gothic novel Frankenstein all directed by Oliver Hymans. In March 2017 they presented Nutshell, a group devised piece directed by Polly Beestone.
