Puppetry Foundation Course
Designed for absolute beginners, it is open to all those who have always wanted to have a go at puppetry but never had the opportunity to do so. Explore a variety of different puppet forms and learn the basics of puppet manipulation and making over 10 weeks.

About the tutors
Oliver Smart – Puppeteer/Creative Collaborator
Oliver is a specialist in the design, fabrication and performance of puppets for stage and screen.
He has worked with Disney, The National Theatre, Nickelodeon, ITV, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Theatre Royal Bath, Flying Cloud, LAMA Creative, Finger in the Pie, Turtle Key Arts, Irresistible Films, Blind Summit, Puppetlab, Snuff Puppets, Sixth Sense and Travelling Light.
Oliver is a specialist in advanced puppetry education, he is a lead facilitator for Little Angel Theatre Creative Learning Department and has designed and tutored education programmes at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Rose Bruford College of Performing Arts and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Oliver is the lead facilitator on this course. http://www.oliversmart.net
Ronnie Le Drew – Puppeteer/Director
Ronnie Le Drew is one of the UK’s most respected puppeteers, and recipient of the prestigious Harlequin Award, the Oscar of the puppetry world. He has operated many of the most iconic children’s puppets of the twentieth century – Zippy, Sweep, Muffin the Mule, Bill and Ben, Brains from Thunderbirds – as well as working on classic puppet films such as Labyrinth, Little Shop of Horrors and The Muppet Christmas Carol. He continues to work regularly as a puppeteer in TV, theatre and advertising and also teaches at the London School of Puppetry, which he founded in 1987, and Little Angel Theatre. Ronnie is the guest tutor on this course.
