Rod Puppet Construction Course

With Peter O’Rourke, Cubic Feet Theatre Company

About the Course
This new five day course takes students through the process of making a simple user-friendly rod puppet. They will work from a prototype to make the torso, the arms and the mechanisms. They will then have an opportunity to design their own unique puppet’s head in Styrofoam. Other materials used include birch-ply, hardwood dowel, piano wire, limewood, leather, brown paper and gesso. The course is designed both for beginners and those who would like to build on their experience and learn new techniques.
