Making Puppetry Performance with, and for, schools
With Jane Crawshaw, Barmpot Theatre
About the Course
This two-day workshop gives theatre makers and puppeteers an insight into how to engage with schools, how to book a schools theatre tour, methods to assess the educational value of your work, how to find funders to support your work, and ways to enhance your offering for schools with wrap-around activities that are appropriate for your show.
Participants will learn about the process used when making and writing Barmpot Theatre’s recent show Nature Elly, made in association with Little Angel Theatre, where the company worked with 300 children at 10 partner schools during R&D to shape the production. Barmpot Theatre have previously delivered workshops and performances to over 5,000 children at 50+ primary schools across the UK, and work with a number of different partners, councils and arts organisations to deliver their work.
This workshop is aimed at theatre makers and puppeteers with some producing experience.
