(A South African Poem)

When earthly days have passed, and when no more
He sees his loved stage, and the children’s eyes,
I like to think upon some heavenly floor
They’ll let him show his toys in Paradise,
Raising stage curtains of immortal flowers
Between the splendour of the golden towers,
To give the angel-babies such great joy
And hear the laughter of each girl and boy
That he could always bring….
