Partner Schools

“ This partnership has created a real buzz in the school- thank you!  We find that the in-depth partnership allows children to become confident and comfortable with an art form that many of them would not engage with otherwise- theatre and also puppetry!  It inspires, engages and promotes a love of learning.  We feel so lucky to be a part of it!

Teacher – Sacred Heart School

We have an ongoing partnership with 8 Islington primary schools, providing every pupil with at least one free theatre visit every single year, as well as a wide offering of after school clubs and in-class workshops.

While social factors make these children particularly in need of the arts, financial barriers would typically prevent them from participating. This is because approximately 50% of pupils from our partner schools are eligible for free school meals, over 10% receive SEN support & 40% have English as an additional language. This, paired with stark government cuts on arts funding, means we are increasingly motivated to re-incorporate creativity into their curriculum.

Annually the partnership promises each school the following package:

  • At least one theatre visit per year for every pupil in the school.
  • At least one visiting production in the school.
  • An after-school puppet club for targeted pupils (SEND, speech and language, social, low income).
  • CPD Training sessions for teachers.
  • Workshops for targeted year groups or classes and at school events.
  • Opportunities to see and feed into work-in-progress.
  • Direct behind the scenes access to industry specialists for advice, Q&As, educational resources and assemblies.
  • Where funding allows, we have also been able to offer additional in-depth projects

In June 2024  we were able to raise £10,338 during our Big Give campaign, championed by the Childhood Trust and generous donors like you!

By donating, you’re not just supporting a single event or activity; you’re helping sustain a vital program that brings joy and educational enrichment to hundreds of young minds.

Suggested donations:

  • £14 Pays for 2 children to visit the theatre.
  • £45 Pays for 3 children to attend a bespoke creative workshop with their class.
  • £245 Pays for a class of schoolchildren to see one of our shows, enriching the curriculum.

All amounts are welcome. Thank you!

“  Many of our children do not access local amenities, such as local theatres, and the arts unless they engage through school. we have a curriculum that values creativity and accessing a breadth of life experiences – and our link with little Angel Theatre forms a significant part of that offer”

Teacher – Winton Primary School

To continue making a difference in the lives of these children, we need your support as this partnership certainly isn’t without its costs. Every theatre visit, workshop, and after-school club requires significant resources, and so we rely heavily on fundraising to cover these expenses.
